Admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Fifth Circuit.

Mr. Wade has over ten years of experience representing public corporations, private companies and individuals as plaintiffs and defendants in complex trials in state and federal courts in Texas and abroad and before arbitration panels of the American Arbitration Association. His experience includes appeals before Texas appellate courts and federal courts of appeal. He has experience in:

  • commercial litigation
  • energy litigation, including representation of operators, working interest owners and royalty owners
  • shareholder and partner disputes
  • patent infringement
  • business torts

Mr. Wade has been selected as a “Texas Super Lawyer” in Business Litigation in surveys conducted by Texas Monthly since 2004.  He was also named as a “Texas Rising Star” in an earlier Texas Monthly survey. 

Mr. Wade joined Porter & Hedges in 1997 following a two year judicial clerkship with the Hon. Norman W. Black, Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He was also managing editor of the South Texas Law Review  from 1994 to 1995.

  • Lead trial counsel for plaintiffs in a case to take over ownership and control of company engaged in the manufacture of products in an emerging field of fiber technology.
  • Lead trial counsel defending a company against breach of contract and negligence claims brought by a franchise owner.
  • Lead trial counsel for plaintiffs seeking to recover amounts owed by a public company on the purchase of the plaintiff's business and other monies owed for performance under employment agreements.
  • Lead trial counsel for a shareholder pursuing claims against a privately held company and its other shareholders for breach of obligations contained in a shareholder's agreement.
  • Lead counsel for an executive in his separation from one of the nation's largest fee mineral and royalty interest holding partnerships.
  • Lead trial counsel for a supplier of steel to a public transportation project in a case against the general contractor, its owners and officers and the surety.
  • Trial counsel for owners of a patent concerning measures and devices used to more efficiently and economically manufacture electric circuit boards in cases against two infringing multinational corporations.
  • Trial counsel for a large independent oil and gas company in a trial regarding the construction of a joint operating agreement against other working interest owners.
  • Trial counsel for a large pipeline and natural gas storage company in several adversary proceedings associated with the Enron bankruptcy.
  • Trial counsel for an international plastics manufacturer in a trial defending against fraud claims brought by an international construction company concerning work on a $1.8 billion dollar expansion of the plastic manufacturer's facilities.
  • Trial counsel for a bankruptcy trustee in a case against an international securities firm concerning the fraudulent transfer of millions of dollars used to collateralize high risk investments in Russian and Ukrainian debt instruments.
  • Trial counsel for a bankruptcy trustee in a case against the managers and advisors for several mutual funds for breach of contract and self-dealing.
  • Trial counsel for a private company and owner of several United States patents concerning the separation of solids from drilling fluids in a case against domestic and international companies for infringement of the patents.
  • Trial counsel for a bank in a case against a bank client and its owners for fraud concerning the company's manipulation of a factoring line of credit.
  • Appellate counsel for patent owner before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit concerning the issue of inequitable conduct in the procurement of a patent.
  • Lead trial counsel for a public company and its officers in a case against an individual who had posted defamatory e-mails concerning the company's practices and personnel on Internet bulletin boards.
  • Trial counsel for royalty owners seeking payment of royalties owed on production from natural gas wells over a 25 year period from an international oil company.
