Jim Aycock is an associate in the litigation section of Porter & Hedges and is involved in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants comprised of large corporations, local companies, partnerships and individuals, and has been named a "Texas Rising Star" in surveys conducted by Texas Monthly magazine in 2007 and 2008.  His primary focus has involved litigation involving the financial, energy, real estate, construction, and chemical industries. He has experience in:

  • breach of contract and business torts
  • construction law
  • premises and products liability

Prior to his career as a lawyer, Mr. Aycock was a vice president in Compass Bank's Private Client Services Group where he provided lending, investment and trust services to high net worth individuals and professional corporations. Prior to joining Compass Bank, Mr. Aycock was an assistant vice president with Wells Fargo Bank where he also provided lending and investment services to Wells Fargo's private banking clients.

  • Representation of a manufacturing company against claims of patent infringement.

    Mr. Aycock serves as the Vice President of the Board of Governors for The Center Serving Persons With Mental Retardation, as well as a Board of Trustee member for Foundation For The Retarded. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Gulf Coast Region, and has served as a volunteer for Special Olympics, Childrens Wish Foundation, Private Sector Initiative, and the Success at Work Program at Fondren Middle School. Mr. Aycock is also a member of the Madrugadores Breakfast Club, the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M University and a supporter of conservation activities by organizations such as the Coastal Conservation Association and Ducks Unlimited.
