Porter Hedges Elects Six New Partners for 2015

Houston, Texas, January 26, 2015 -- Porter Hedges announced today that six lawyers have been elected as partners effective January 1, 2015. The new partners are Mandy Diaz (Tax), Anders Gibson (Energy Finance), Kate Wade (Litigation), and Amy Wolfshohl (Construction).

Mandy L. Diaz (Tax)
Ms. Diaz’ versatile practice encompasses income taxation, transfer taxes, employee benefits, executive compensation and general corporate matters. Her practice includes general and business planning matters and all aspects of the formation and reorganization of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. Additionally, Ms. Diaz focuses on aspects of estate and tax planning, wills, trusts, and wealth preservation planning. Ms. Diaz was selected for inclusion in Texas Rising Stars in Estate Planning & Probate in 2010 and 2011. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Houston Clear Lake. She is a member of Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and active in the firm’s Women’s Initiative program.

Anders T. C. Gibson (Energy Finance)
Mr. Gibson’s practice focuses on representing agents, lenders, participants and borrowers in a variety of energy and commercial financing transactions, including reserve-based lending, mezzanine financing, revolving and term credit facilities, second lien credit facilities, syndicated and single-lender financings, secured hedging transactions, intercreditor matters, loan workouts, compliance with hedging regulations, acquisitions and divestitures of energy-related assets and companies and related secured transactions. Mr. Gibson received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Arkansas and his B.A. from the University of Virginia. He has been selected by Martindale Hubble as a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer for Energy Law, Environmental Law, Land Use Law, with an AV Preeminent peer review rating.  In addition, Mr. Gibson received the firm’s 2011-2012 Pro Bono Award for his outstanding contributions to the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.

 

Kate Wade (Litigation)
Ms. Wade’s litigation experience includes jury trials and arbitrations and includes the following areas: complex business litigation, contract disputes, fiduciary duties, insurance coverage and bad faith, oil and gas exploration and production equipment and technology, products liability, personal injury, trade secrets, construction disputes, and non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. Ms. Wade has tried cases to verdict and judgment in Texas federal and state courts and to final award before the American Arbitration Association. She received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.A., with honors, from The University of Texas. Ms. Wade is an active member of the firm’s Women’s Initiative program and Diversity Committee.

Amy K. Wolfshohl (Construction)
Ms. Wolfshohl’s practice focuses on a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including construction law, energy, and other technical fields. She has experience in both federal and state court. Ms. Wolfshohl has represented subcontractors, owners, general contractors, homeowners, and others in disputes related to commercial, industrial, pipeline, and residential construction. Ms. Wolfshohl was selected for inclusion in Texas Rising Stars in 2012, 2013, and 2014 for Construction Litigation. Before practicing law, Ms. Wolfshohl was a project engineer for general contractors in Texas and California. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.S., summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University.  Ms. Wolfshohl is an active member of the firm's Women's Initiative program and Diversity Committee.
