While we focus on M&A activities, we also advise private equity clients on a variety of legal and regulatory matters including securities regulations, tax, and employee benefit plan regulations. We also work with both management teams and portfolio companies that are seeking private equity funding for their businesses. Over the last several years, we have advised clients in nearly 100 private equity transactions with a combined value of more than $7 billion.
In the last year, our team has advised clients in energy industry private equity transactions totaling more than $2.5 billion in combined value. These transactions have included fund formation for the purpose of acquiring, operating, and developing conventional natural gas reserves in North America, sale of upstream and midstream oil and gas assets in domestic shale plays, and mezzanine project debt and project equity investments in exploration and production and midstream projects, among others.
