Dr. Dawson received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
As an undergraduate at Tsinghua University, Dr. Dawson obtained the highest academic performance and received several scholarships, including the Dow Chemical Award. During the Master's program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Dr. Dawson worked as a process engineer at General Mills and a technical consultant at Plug Power.
During her Ph.D. research, Dr. Dawson expanded her experiences in multiple disciplines and technologies, including: physics, physical chemistry, polymer science, cell biology, cancer physiology, diabetes treatment, nanotechnology, various microscopic techniques, fluorescence-based technologies, magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging. The goal of her research was to utilize a novel comb copolymer system to deliver imaging and/or therapeutic agents for cancer diagnosis and treatment, which is also applicable in the management of diabetes.
Dr. Dawson has co-authored papers in several journals, including the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Polymer Preprints.
Prior to joining the Firm, Dr. Dawson was a technical advisor at Conley Rose.
