Tina Stansel is an associate in the litigation section of Porter & Hedges and is involved in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants comprised of large corporations, local companies, partnerships and individuals. Her experience includes:

  • business torts
  • trademark/trade secrets/copyright infringement litigation
  • oil and gas matters
  • premises and products liability
  • pharmaceutical litigation
  • medical malpractice/health care litigation

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Stansel's practice consisted of representing doctors, hospitals, nurses, and nursing homes in defense of traditional medical malpractice, wrongful death, and hospital and nursing home liability.

Representative Experience

  • Served as primary associate in successfully obtaining temporary injunction on behalf of client against former employee for enforcement of covenant not to compete to prevent former employee from soliciting client's employees and customers.
  • Management of over twenty attorneys in a high-profile intellectual property case in the electronic production of millions of pages of documents.
  • Served as primary associate in successful settlement of oil and gas turn-key breach of contract dispute.
  • Defense of corporations in products and premises liability cases for such claims as asbestosis, mesothelioma, benzene, and other chemical exposures.
  • Served as primary associate defending million-dollar wrongful death case.
  • Successfully argued motions dismissing all claims of medical malpractice against large hospitals based on Plaintiff's insufficient expert report and/or Plaintiff's failure to produce an expert report.
  • Successfully argued plea in abatement for physician due to Plaintiff's failure to provide proper medical authorization form.
  • Protected privileged documents for large hospital through the discovery process of drafting motions for protection, protective orders, and responding to motions to compel.
  • Member of national counsel team representing a drug company in pharmaceutical litigation.
