Porter Hedges Announces Randy King as Energy Section Co-Chair

Porter Hedges has announced that Randy King will serve as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Energy Section. He will serve in this role alongside Bob Thomas who has served as the leader of the section since it was established.

Mr. King has been an attorney at Porter Hedges for more than 20 years. His practice focuses on a wide range of domestic and international energy-related projects located onshore, offshore, upstream, and in the midstream sector. His experience includes advising on acquisitions and divestitures, oil and gas joint ventures, exploration and development project agreements, natural gas purchase/sales/marketing agreements, natural gas processing and treating agreements, oil and gas transportation agreements, natural gas storage agreements, natural gas supply agreements, operating and maintenance agreements, and master service agreements.

Mr. King is listed in Chambers USA among the leading lawyers in the area of Oil & Gas Transactions. He has also been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America in Oil & Gas Law, the 2012 Houston Business Journal's "Who's Who in Energy" list, and recognized by ALM as a "2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Energy/Environmental."

He is a member of the Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen, American Association of Petroleum Landmen, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. King spent 13 years practicing as an independent petroleum landman. His experience included negotiating oil and gas leases, title examination, structuring oil and gas property acquisitions and exploration transactions. Mr. King has been a Certified Professional Landman since 1984.
