Porter Hedges Announces New Pro Bono Committee Chair

Porter Hedges is pleased to announce the appointment of Heather Hatfield as Chair of the Pro Bono Committee, effective March 1, 2015.  

Ms. Hatfield is a partner in the litigation practice group of Porter Hedges and has been involved in a variety of matters, including complex contract disputes, oil and gas litigation, corporate investigations and white collar crime defense involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, insurance defense disputes, construction disputes, as well as complex commercial litigation matters. She has been selected for inclusion in Texas Rising Stars for business litigation since 2012. Ms. Hatfield is a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee, Diversity Committee, and is active in the firm’s Women’s Initiative.

Porter Hedges has a long history of giving back to its community.  As part of this service, our pro bono committee coordinates the activity of our lawyers who volunteer hundreds of hours each year to serve those in need of legal services. Most recently, our attorneys have worked with organizations including the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Project and Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts.  In 2012, Porter Hedges received recognition from the Houston Bar Foundation as the “Outstanding Mid-Size Firm” for our pro bono contribution to the Houston Volunteers Lawyers Program (see here).
