Porter Hedges Grows Corporate Practice with New Partner Robert J. Viguet, Jr.

Robert J. (“Bert”) Viguet, Jr. has joined Porter Hedges as a partner focusing on mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance. He also regularly assists clients with securities offerings, private equity financing and syndicated credit facilities. He works primarily for clients in the energy, energy service, and technology industries.

Mr. Viguet advises executives, boards of directors, independent board committees, and entrepreneurs regarding a wide variety of transactions, corporate finance and corporate governance matters. He also represents clients in connection with project finance, hedging and financial derivative contracts.

“Bert’s practice aligns perfectly with our firm and the work we do for many of our clients, particularly in the energy industry. He adds additional depth to our strong corporate and finance practices, and we are excited to welcome him to the firm,” said Managing Partner Rob Reedy.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Viguet offers an experienced perspective for his clients having served as a member of the board of directors of several companies, including most recently Alico, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALCO), a Florida-based agribusiness and land management company.

Mr. Viguet received a J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law and a B.S., with honors, in Engineering Science & Mechanics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Viguet was a drilling engineer for a global integrated energy company.
