Porter Hedges LLP is seeking a Legal Recruiter. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of law firm recruiting experience. Responsibilities include: Firm’s summer associate program, fall recruiting, lateral recruiting, new attorney orientation and integration, the associate review process, attorney training and development programs, including the administration of CLE as well as practice area-specific training, and the implementation and advancement of initiatives in the areas of diversity, attorney mentoring, and morale. Maintain relationships with law schools; orienting new lawyers; working with the Hiring Partner and Recruiting Committee; preparing recruiting budget and statistical reports; recruiting lateral attorneys; coordinating a variety of Firm social events; and collaborating with Marketing and Business Development on events as needed.
Candidates must possess the following skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience of at least three years in law firm recruiting is acceptable
- Availability for after-hours events and occasional out of town work is required
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well with all levels of Firm personnel, clients, and vendors
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; knowledge of document management system and viDesktop/viRecruit is preferred
