Porter Hedges announced today that it has once again signed the Houston Bar Association’s (HBA) Gender Fairness Committee Statement.

By signing this document, Porter Hedges renews its support of the HBA’s effort to encourage law firms and in-house legal departments to do more to improve gender equality.  Firms and legal departments pledge to develop and use objective and unbiased criteria to evaluate women attorneys for partnership and leadership positions, and to generally promote policies and practices to retain and advance women attorneys.

“Our firm is committed to ensuring that we continue to take concrete steps to increase the number of women in our partnership and in leadership positions across the firm.  We are proud to sign this statement and support ongoing efforts in the legal industry to improve gender equality,” said Managing Partner Rob Reedy.

Aligned with its commitment in the pledge, Porter Hedges recently promoted a partner class that included 60% women, all of whom have spent their entire private practice career at the firm.
