Porter Hedges Represents Coral Reef Capital in its Asset Acquisition of Map Oil Company

Porter Hedges LLP represented Coral Reef Capital and its portfolio company Shawnee Oil Company LLC (“Shawnee”) in their acquisition of the Illinois Basin assets of Map Oil Company, Inc. (“Map Oil”).

Coral Reef Capital is a New York-based private investment firm that is exclusively focused on private equity investments in the natural resources sector, including oil & gas exploration and production, metals & mining, agricultural minerals, energy and related infrastructure and services.  Headquartered in Carmi, Illinois, Shawnee acquires, develops and produces oil and gas leases in the Illinois Basin.

Map Oil is an independent oil producer based in Grayville, IL with operations in southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana.
