Porter Hedges Elects Four New Partners for 2021

Porter Hedges announced today that Brett W. Chalke, Sarah M. Elliott, M. Shane Johnson, and Rikiya N. Thomas have been elected as partners effective January 1, 2021.

Brett Chalke

Brett Chalke counsels a wide range of public and private clients in commercial and energy litigation with an emphasis on the upstream and midstream oil and gas, petrochemical refining, real estate, transportation, capital projects, financial services, and construction industries. His experience includes disputes involving purchase and sale agreements, shareholder disputes, fiduciary duties, fraud, oil and gas leases and conveyances, construction contracts, loan agreements, master service agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and non-compete agreements.

Sarah Elliott

Sarah Elliott represents clients on a variety of general corporate matters with a focus on debt and equity finance. She has experience advising lenders and borrowers in connection with senior secured credit agreements, subordinated debt facilities, and SBIC investments of long-term debt and equity, across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, business services, and technology.

Shane Johnson

Shane Johnson advises debtors, DIP lenders, liquidating trustees, official committees of unsecured creditors, and other creditors on various bankruptcy matters, particularly in the energy and finance industries. His recent experience includes serving as debtors’ counsel for an oil and gas services company and an E&P company as part of their Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.

Rikiya Thomas

Rikiya Thomas represents public and private companies in a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, SEC compliance, corporate governance, public and private securities offerings and private equity investments. She has worked with clients in various industries, including but not limited to, energy, technology, manufacturing, and staffing.
