The Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) has announced that Porter Hedges Partner David Salton has received Board Certification in Construction Law. Less than 1% of attorneys in Texas have received this certification, and David is the third construction attorney at Porter Hedges to receive the certification.

Board Certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 25 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, and pass a written examination applied uniformly to all certification applicants.

David represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in complex construction and government contract disputes, as well as other entities in commercial disputes, often involving purchase and sale or supply agreements in the energy industry. He also has extensive experience representing clients in international commercial arbitrations throughout the world — including London, Singapore, Dubai, New York, Washington D.C., and Houston — under leading institutions like the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). David also acts as a third-party neutral in mediation to help parties resolve their disputes.
