Porter Hedges Announces 2026 1L NextGen Fellowship Recipient
The Firm is pleased to announce that Jennifer Xac is the recipient of the 2026 Porter Hedges 1L NextGen Fellowship.
Jennifer is a first-year law student at the University of Houston Law Center. She graduated from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin (UT) with a bachelor’s degree in international business administration and a minor in management. While at UT, Jennifer served as the Executive Vice President for the UT Asian Business Student Association and as a Cultural Ambassador for the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative.
Jennifer was selected from a competitive pool of highly qualified applicants from law schools across the country. As a fellowship recipient, she will receive a salaried Summer Associate position for 2026 and the opportunity to earn up to $25,000 in stipends throughout her participation in the program.
“Through this fellowship, we seek to expand access and opportunity for the next generation of legal talent and we are proud to welcome Jennifer as our newest fellow,” said Joyce Soliman, Co-Managing Partner and chair of the Firm’s IMPACT Committee.
The Porter Hedges 1L NextGen Fellowship is awarded annually to a first-year law student who is committed to breaking barriers in the legal profession for future generations.
"Our fellowship enables us to recognize and support promising future attorneys at the earliest stages of their careers. Jennifer reflects the qualities and character we strive to cultivate,” said Hiring Partner Joe Morrel.
