Stephanie Holcombe has been named Chair of the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Women in the Law (WITL) Committee, a one-year term that commenced this month.

The appointment builds on Stephanie’s longstanding involvement with DRI and her commitment to advancing women in the legal profession. She has held significant leadership roles within the Women in the Law Committee and has been an active contributor to DRI’s programming and initiatives, most recently serving as First Vice Chair, along with numerous roles on subcommittees supporting women in the legal profession over the past decade.

DRI is the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending the interests of businesses and individuals in civil litigation. The WITL Committee's core mission is to build connections, champion career advancement through leadership, education, and mentorship, and address issues affecting women lawyers.

Stephanie is a partner in the Houston office of Porter Hedges. Throughout her litigation career, she has successfully led trial teams in state and federal courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations, on a variety of complex legal issues, using her unique background to help persuade judges, arbitrators, and jurors to side with her clients. In addition to litigating cases, Stephanie serves as a trusted day-to-day advisor to companies, their owners, and senior executives, helping them identify risk, address business disputes, and coordinate legal needs before issues escalate.

Stephanie serves in leadership roles across the firm, including on the firm’s Management Committee and as Chair of the Women’s Initiative. She also speaks across North America about leadership and trial tactics.
