Tom Gutting focuses his practice on complex construction litigation, regulatory compliance, and corporate investigations, bringing over 15 years of experience in high-stakes dispute resolution and legal strategy. Most recently, Tom served as Director of Legal Services and Compliance Officer at Linde Engineering Americas, a Global 500 industrial construction company. In this role, he managed all legal and compliance matters for major energy and infrastructure projects across the Americas, including contract disputes, risk management, employment issues, and government enforcement actions.

A seasoned construction litigator, Tom led the company through a high-profile trial involving unpaid construction costs, resulting in a nearly $70 million recovery on a $55 million claim. He has significant experience managing outside counsel, shaping litigation strategy, and resolving disputes across the full lifecycle of major projects. Tom also oversaw implementation of compliance protocols tied to clean energy tax incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act—ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory frameworks impacting construction and infrastructure clients.

Prior to Linde, Tom was an attorney at an AmLaw100 firm where he handled construction-related torts, catastrophic injury cases, and investigations involving the DOJ, EPA, and other agencies.

Tom is a frequent speaker on construction law topics and a former board member of the Texas Civil Rights Project.
