Central District of California Judge David O. Carter ruled for Porter Hedges client Arrehman Arraheem Corporation (“Arrehman” or “Defendant”) and dismissed a trademark infringement suit brought by Bundoo Khan USA LLC (“Bundoo Khan” or “Plaintiff”) related to Defendant’s Bundu Khan Kabab House restaurants. Porter Hedges obtained dismissal for the Defendant based upon lack of personal jurisdiction.

Following the motion to dismiss, Bundoo Khan was given until August 5, 2022, to re-plead the case, which the Plaintiff declined to do. Plaintiff, Bundoo Khan, which recently opened a restaurant in Los Angeles, California, accused Arrehman of trademark infringement despite the Defendant having run its Pakistani barbeque restaurants in the Houston area for almost 20 years. Prospera Law, LLP served as local counsel on the matter.
