• Represented a large US exploration and production company in a putative class action regarding a previously-undecided question regarding North Dakota royalty interpretation. 
• Represented a major exploration and production company as first chair in a trial that ended with a unanimous jury verdict for the company
• Represented a subsidiary of a global publicly-traded oil and gas company in numerous putative class actions filed by royalty owners throughout the United States (Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and North Dakota) and obtained summary judgment or dismissal of class allegations in a number of these cases.
• Represented a major exploration and production company in a complex co-owner dispute involving the parties' joint operating agreement and whether post-production costs could be deducted from an overriding royalty interest.
• Represented a major exploration and production company in a development dispute involving the proper interpretation of the subsequent operations provision in the AAPL model form joint operating agreement.
• Represented a subsidiary of a global publicly-traded oil and gas company in an arbitration to determine royalty trust's liability for certain expenses.
• Represented a large US exploration and production company in royalty owner lawsuits pending in Oklahoma state court.
• Represented one of the nation's largest gas producers in two putative class actions in Arkansas state court and played a major role in both class certification hearings.
• Represented a large exploration and production company in royalty litigation alleging unreasonable deductions, including an appeal reversing the denial of a motion to transfer venue. 
• Represented a regional energy company in a breach of purchase agreement case that resulted in a $21.5 million judgment against a large gas producer.
• Represented a major oil and gas company in lawsuits throughout the Eagle Ford Shale area relating to complex title and breach-of-contract issues.
• Represented a major oil and gas company in Texas state court class action lawsuits alleging underpayment of royalties and improper deductions from royalty payments.
• Represented a major oil and gas company in various lawsuits throughout Texas related to gathering system charges and the calculation of royalties, generally.
• Represented a major oil and gas company in an Oklahoma lawsuit alleging failure to develop and breach of contract.
• Represented a family-owned energy company in an East Texas lease purchase dispute against a large gas producer.
• Represented an oil and gas company in an interlocutory appeal and mandamus stemming from class action.
• Represented a major oil and gas company in various appeals involving post-production deductions and other contract interpretation issues.
