Porter Hedges is pleased to announce its participation in the University of Houston Law Center (“UHLC”) Pre-Law Pipeline Program.

This summer, Porter Hedges will host a program scholar for a paid internship at the Firm’s Houston office. Xandria Mcgilber, a rising junior at Prairie View University, will work with individuals in different departments across the Firm to gain a better understanding of how a corporate law firm operates, both from the legal and administrative perspectives.

Partner Josh Wolfshohl, an alumni of the UHLC, will spearhead the Firm’s involvement in the program, along with support from Recruiting Partner Heather Hatfield and Partner Joyce Soliman, Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee.

The UHLC Pre-Law Pipeline Program is designed to increase the diversity of law school applicants by providing law school preparatory resources for students who are first generation, low income, or members of groups underrepresented in the legal profession. The program includes LSAT preparation, introductory law school classes, internships, and professional development sessions for participating students.
